Pros: Price - Almost free and it out performed a $60 router from D-Link
Range - Better than the $60 D-Link
Signal Strength - Continuous connection with little to no disconnects
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Great product, would recommend for anyone who is looking for an quality router with on a budget
Pros: - Great Low End WiFi Router
- Great as a WiFi Repeater
- Small Footprint, Low Heat Output.
Cons: - Can tip backward easily if ethernet is connected and at edge of table or shelf.
Other Thoughts: - Great Buy all in all
Pros: -Works Great as a Router, Access Point, or Repeater
-Great Range
-Great Price
-Small Footprint
Cons: -Basic N300 Router
-No Gigabit Ports
-Too Light Weight so multiple cords can make it lean backwards.
Other Thoughts: Great Basic WiFi Router, and Works Fantastic as a Repeater to extend the range or your current WiFi system. Only thing Better is Upgrading to Dual/Triband with QOS and full Gigabit.
Pros: -Looked nice
Cons: -URL provided to set up did not work, tried IP version, did not work, went online for login method which worked, but nothing could be saved.
-Internet was patchy with out of box settings, which is all I was ever able to test really. Very disheartened.
Spent 2 hours trying to set up to no avail.
Other Thoughts: -If the product worked, perhaps I would be willing to try this again.
Pros: Quick Setup
Reliable Connection
TRENDNet Awesome Quality
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I would Definitely Recommend this to a friend, and purchase it again.
Pros: It works great as an access point to provide Wi-Fi to the further rooms from the main router.
Cons: The Range is not great and it would not go through a block wall.
Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for but for less than 20 it's a great deal.
Pros: When it works, its good
Cons: Does not last more than 2 years. My first one failed after 2 years. My replacement failed almost exactly 1 year. Same exact problem as my first one. Warranty is based off of original purchase. Now out of warranty. When it fails your wireless bandwidth will be almost 0 throughput. 2400 baud modem speeds. There is obviously some design/quality flaw with this product.
Other Thoughts: I think I may have found the flaw. I replaced the copper colored 220uf 25v Capacitor at location C177, so far been working good for 1 week. Initial reading was 212, but then kept dropping. It went down to 209. May have even went lower if I kept testing. New replacement cap was reading 224uf. :)
Pros: Range
resets quickly (I should know)
Cons: Cuts out regularly, needs to be reset constantly.
Blocks access to common websites sporadically (Yahoo, Newegg)
Other Thoughts: I thought I was upgrading when I purchased this, I was wrong. I was replacing an old microsoft router that would need to be rebooted about once a week. I've had this router for quite a while now and I can clearly say I wish I had never bought it. I've had it RMA'd once already and it was supposedly a new one. Same issues keep occurring. I use it for wireless stuff and also as a pass through for my PC.
It constantly fails to connect to webpages. after some research there's some type of internal firewall that I cannot access. I've chewed out my provider so many times for them to point at the router and then prove it to be the issue. It's left a bad taste in my mouth for TrendNET all together now. This was supposedly an awesome low priced router when I got it, but after nearly 3 years of on going struggle, I'm going to have to buy a NEW one to replace this one. What an aggravation it has been. Under light usage even it struggles. I mainly use my Wi-Fi for clash of clans, email, and texting. But it still can't seem to be reliable. That's awful in my book.
We are sorry hear that you had an issue with the TEW-731BR. The router does have a built in NAT firewall but it doesn’t block outbound traffic. We would recommend testing your connection while directly connected to your modem to rule out a router issue. Please email [email protected] and we will have a support representative assist you.
